The City of Ghosts is a ruined city beyond the Silver Vale. Dorian Draken claims to have found his sword there, and Hecate once described to Hazel a city beyond the Vale that is now a haunted remnant where only ghosts dwell.1
Description
Dorian called it the fabled City of Ghosts, many miles beyond the eastern edge of the Vale. By his account it was a city doomed by the blight of the Sorrow and lost to time, where he found one of the ancient relics of powerful magic that once dotted these lands.1
Hecate spoke of a city neighboring the Vale but outside it. It had been a place of high art, poetry and music, where the moon was seen as a thing of protection and beauty, in a way that it no longer can be within the Vale because of its association with what shattered it and the world. Hecate grew wistful talking about it. It was once a beautiful city, she said, and is now a haunted remnant where only ghosts dwell.1 She has also made it very clear to Hazel that what lies beyond the Vale is not for the faint of heart.1

At the Dancing Sword on 30 Coldrise, 1714 PSF, Dorian told Rhysaene and Luma that he had found his sword in the City of Ghosts.1 Luma found a faint crescent moon etched on the blade, and Hazel remembered Hecate’s description of the city that honored the moon. “It was real,” she said under her breath.1 Luma took Dorian’s account and Hazel’s memory as two sources for a city to the east, and wanted to go there.1
Session 14
On 1 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, Luma recalled that Dorian had put the City of Ghosts in the east, and wondered whether the dead trees on Eliath Drace’s sketch were dead cities.2
