Appearance

Stoll is an older human man with short dark brown hair going grey, a clean-shaven face and cold dark blue eyes.1

Biography

Session 5

Stoll rode south from Thornwatch with Petra Ashford and Devyn Marsh, and met the party on the Old Road. He asked Iva why she was carrying her lantern openly while off duty, which was against protocol, and complained to Ashford that standards were plummeting. Iva was told to take the lantern off her belt, and did.1

Session 6

Stoll rode north past the party at a gallop with Petra Ashford and Devyn Marsh on 27 Coldrise, 1714 PSF.2 The party came on the three of them again that night, in a forest clearing two miles north of the Standing Stone, confronting a man who turned out to be a Sorrowsworn.2

Session 7

Stoll turned at Rhysaene’s first blast of eldritch fire, pointed his sword and shouted that they were surrounded by mages. Petra Ashford told him to take one problem at a time.3 When Hazel came out of the trees as a bear he shouted that the witches had one.3 The Sorrowsworn stabbed at him and he got his shield up just in time. Later he swung at it twice, wildly, and missed.3

Afterwards he told the captain the party were wielding the most foul magic he had seen in his years, and said they should all be arrested. He argued that they were breaking religious law and inviting evil inside the protection of the Silver Flame, and said he would die to protect that light. Told the captain’s decision, he took his hand off his weapon without changing his face.3 Iva and Hazel both read nothing in him but hatred.3

The party learned his given name here, from Petra Ashford telling him to be quiet.3

Session 15

By 2 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, Stoll was reporting that he and his squad had met a group of mages up north, and his descriptions of four of the party were accurate.4 Petra Ashford had so far talked him out of filing an official report, and he was trying to go around his chain of command to find someone who would hear it.4 Silas Wintermist offered Iva to keep the report from ever becoming official.4
